Truth Statement: I AM ENOUGH

There is one lie that has plagued me harder and more often than any other lie out there. This one thought runs across the screen in my mind almost all day every day, like an incessant ticker tape broadcasting my flaws in any area you can think of.

This undercurrent pulls at me in my walk with God. It tugs on my parenting and in my marriage. It yanks my dreams and tears at my goals. This one line is divisive over every single part of me.

the lie: I am not enough. Period.

When I stood there at the very beginning of this affirmation journey, the moment where I realized my fake platitudes were no longer cutting it, this lie was the underlying point to all of my defeating thoughts. I really, truly thought I am not enough in any area of my life.

There in that place of utter and complete hopeless helplessness, I cried out to God. And do you know what he said?

“Brandi, you’re not. You are not enough.”

“But I am. I am enough in you and I have given you enough.”

When He took me out of the equation and inserted His holy abundance I finally saw freedom. On our own we aren’t and will never be enough. But He is in me and you my friend. We are enough because He has given us everything we could possibly need to be enough.

the truth:
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. 2 Peter 1:3-4

  2. I struggle so hard with this. its not about me, its about Him and what more do we need to know than the fact that He is enough and has given us enough, period. Thank You, Jesus! Brandi, I am so blessed by these teachings

    • Marlene, I am giving you one big hug right now. Friend, I so understand the struggle, I really do. It is a daily washing for me, and sometimes I go through seasons where I need to be reminded 10 times a minute, while other seasons I’m doing ok with this insecurity. God loves you Marlene, so very very much, He walks with you and speaks these truths over you even while you struggle to hold onto them. 🙂 Thank you for coming on this journey with me, I am so honored to get to share it with you!

I'd love to hear your thoughts...
