~ Cheer ~

Have you ever run a 5K? I did once… and it was… well… it was an experience. But crossing the finish line left me in tears.

We rounded the corner and the big finale was visible. There was pomp and there was circumstance. But what left me speechless were the people. Husbands holding babies, kids waving their arms, fathers, Grandmothers, wives, friends — everyone had an expectant look. And whether you were first or last, whether you ran or walked, they were cheering.

Cheering with pride.

Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Life is like that 5K – and finishing this race is possible because of those cheering us all along the way.

  1. i love this brandi:) it also reminds me of Hebrews 12:1…i should have written about it…still might. just thinking about that cloud of witnesses that are watching as we run the race…ordinary people like us but also people like Paul and stephen and women who were martyred in the early church and sarah and deborah and…

they are cheering us on as we walk by faith…small as it is. the important thing about our faith is not how big our faith is, but who it is in! can you just imagine how awesome it will be when we reach that finish line in heaven?! wow!

loved your post:) btw, i’m your next door neighbor at fmf.
