~ Alive ~

Soooo…. it has been F. O. R. E. V. E. R. since I’ve done one of these… but I  (due to some crazy awesome news which I’ll share at the end of this post) couldn’t resist joining back up with some AMAZING writers. {insert a few hoops and hollers} This is a quick post- 5 whole minutes of unedited, unscripted words on a page. Raw, Authentic and fun. Check out the details here.

Five Minute Friday

Alive

The stone was rolled away. The tomb now empty. And all of religion as we knew it changed. Time split in half.

For One Man, dead, is now alive.

He was called “the Word” by John. The Word was there in the beginning, with God, is God. And He is alive and active. Sharper than any sword. Seeing to the very heart of me.

Doesn’t feeling seen and known make you feel alive? Being vulnerable and rejected is like death, but being loved despite your shortcomings brings breath to dry bones.

His death and resurrection may save you, but it’s His life – His living – that fills your lungs, fuels your soul.

~~~
So that awesome news… there is going to be a Five Minute Friday BOOK and one of my FMF pieces will be included. (EEEK!!!) I’m so excited, shocked and humbled. His grace makes me feel alive as he meets me in the midst of my everyday mess. Who knew- in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon that God would show up unexpectedly with a gift of affirmation. More details to come- but for now, celebrate with me by visiting some of these amazing Five Minute Friday writers. (be sure to scroll all the way down- there’s a bunch of us linked up at the bottom).
  1. Nice to ‘meet’ you Brandi :). These words are so true “being loved despite your shortcomings brings breath to dry bones.” What a beautiful word picture to tuck away for those times my bones feel dry!
  2. Returning the favor since you visited me too. So much THIS: “Doesn’t feeling seen and known make you feel alive? Being vulnerable and rejected is like death, but being loved despite your shortcomings brings breath to dry bones.” John 1:1 is one of my all time fave passages especially as a writer!
