Sunday Selah

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1-3

His love endures forever. What a thought. Forever: unending, limitless, continually, permanently, perpetually… eternally.

I certainly don’t have that forever kind of gratitude simmering in my soul. Being thankful can be such a situational thing for me, a moment of blessing that evokes praise. I give thanks when I’ve received something or I experience the feelings of gratitude.
What if we praised Him no matter where we found ourselves standing? What if we praised Him in the midst of the storm, expecting nothing but giving all adoration? What if we gave thanks for who he is, the God of love, rather than what He’s done?

What if we were thankful not for the situation, but for the relationship? Give thanks to the Lord, His love is limitless. Give thanks to the Lord, His love is permanent. Give thanks to the Lord, His love is perpetual.
