Sunday Selah

The view used to be a sea of evergreen. Vibrant and soothing. Now, after years of Beetle kill, the brown and grey aftermath smothers the green. What used to bring solice now bears depression. Pine-Beetle-forest

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel like life is this way too. Something comes in and seemingly devours me. My peace is chewed up and my hope crumbled.

I call to You, Lord, for the fire has consumed the pastures of the wilderness, and flames have devoured all the trees of the countryside.  Joel 1:19

And that is when He comes along side you and whispers “Look over here, behold I do a new thing.”

It might start as something suttle, and small. A trickle of life running deep under all the decay and ruin. But watch, sometimes out of death comes fresh new life.

At the base of nearly every beetle-killed tree was the start of a new tree, fresh and green. Nearly EVERY dead tree had sprouted a new.

Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.”   ~Isa. 43:19

“Then the One seated on the throne said, ‘Look! I am making everything new.'”  ~Rev. 21:5a
